Day two.
Me and mum were up at stupid o clock because of some yappy dog in the court yard that barked ALL NIGHT LONG.
Todays the day that we would meet everyone who was offering to volunteer with us and we would also meet the organisers of a local NGO charity founded by a Syrian man, S.
We headed up the road to McDonalds, our allocated meeting point. Z spotted me straight away and started waving. Then K came out and introduced herself and soon enough everyone was turning up. A bought along his two friends, Y and S.
A few more people turned up from the Facebook group, E, R, B and M.
We all headed upstairs for our meeting where I met M for the first time. M told us all about his charity, when it was created, his plans, what they have done already. The charity is called Insanander and its fantastic what they are doing. They have over 2,000 families on their system who are living in Istanbul and they are working directly with refugee camps on the southern borders. We talked about everything we had, everything we had planned and how we could all work together. Some plans were made for me , mum and K to go with S the next day to five peoples homes, giving them shoes and clothes and toys for the children.
After our meeting we all went for a falafel lunch and got to know each other a little bit more.
From here, I go onto the Beyazit family blog. The family who were living behind the Fatih mosque in Beyazit. The link is below.
