My opinion on the eiffell tower.

Whats the point of it ?! That's a rhetorical question, please don't be a smart ass and send me a link about the damn Eiffel tower.

I had been waiting for days to go to the Eiffel tower, the sky had been heavy with fog and snow for days so there was just no point. I woke up and the sun was shining so I went for lunch at cafe constant (separate blog) then made my way to the Eiffel tower.

No lie, I really was not impressed. It wasn't hard to direct my self to this big lump of metal, you can see it very easily in many areas of Paris. Within five minutes I was walking towards this wonderful tower. Then I stopped. Looked at it again, and again, and again and just thought really, this is what all the fuss is about ? This is the place that's meant to be so romantic, where girls want to get engaged and where everyone travels to visit ? THIS ? This big lump of old rusty metal ?

I will say again, I was not impressed.

It was massive yes, but it was also busy. Very busy. Guess who was there ? Japanese. I don't like Japanese. Or busy places. Or particular touristy places. Damn why was I even at this Eiffel tower ? I stayed for a while and wondered around. The area was busy, and tacky, and ugly. Really ugly. I didn't have that wow factor like I did when I approached Sydney harbor bridge, or lady Elliot island  or many Thai beaches.

I took a few photos of course. I kinda had to embrace the tourist trap didn't I.

So all in all just don't bother going to the Eiffel tower. Its shit. Its ugly. Its pointless. Point made :) Enjoy the pics though !

ps. check out that picture of me. Is it really that hard to get the ugly thing behind me in the photo so I can pretend I appreciate it a little bit !? Really.

My first night in PARIS.

I took the train from Cannes to Paris, leaving the brilliant sunshine behind me. For two hours of the journey the weather was perfect, it was even too sunny, I could barely read my kindle the sun was shining so bright. Then I fell asleep and woke up to grey sky's and heavy rain in Paris. Im from Mudeford, the busiest transport I take daily is the yellow bus where at a shove I may have to stand up for a few minutes. I navigated my way to the 4th line with my case and hand bag. I had been walking for nearly 10 minutes in the underground until I found the particular line I needed. I jumped on the most packed train I have ever seen. There was hardly any room for me to squeeze in, and lets face it, no one wanted me on the train with my case !

For the next half an hour I had a bunch of smelly french armpits in my face, a butch lesbian giving me the eye and some weird men perving on me. I hated it, I could barely breath or move an inch ! Arriving at my stop, which was thankfully the last stop on the line, I made my way up to the outside world. I was so glad it was the last stop on the line as there's no way I would of got off that train any time before with all the frenchies squeezing around me.

I reached the road and waited outside the underground station. 10 minutes passed and Hamza wasn't there. 20 minutes passed and Hamza wasn't there. It was dark and raining so I made my way to Mcdonalds and asked a random girl to call Hamza to come get me. and he soon turned up at Mcdonalds it turns out he was waiting for me on the other side of the road ! Damn.

We went to Hamza's studio flat dumped the bag and headed to the supermarket to buy alcohol and food. We found cider but it was nasty ! Why cant the french get good Cider ?! I will never know.

Hamza wanted to show me the gay district of Paris that evening so after dinner and booze we jumped on the scary old metro again and headed out. I swear I was in Africa not France. We went out in Chatlet, to some gay bars. I thought the gay bars in Bournemouth were extreme with beds and cages in the clubs but that was nothing compared to what I was to experience in Paris !

The first club we went to was tiny but packed. Damn all these gay french men were so hot ! It was an interesting bar. Majority of the men were half naked and dancing on Podiums. We stayed for a while then went on to another bar. I have no idea of the names of the bars, sorry ! The next bar was insane. It was bigger and pretty busy for a Tuesday night . I was ordering my drink at the bar when I noticed a load of commotion behind me... people seemed to be looking towards the wall and using their phones to video something. I turned round and I was really shocked. Some guy was stood in a glass booth, under a show, fully naked, having a good old wank to the whole bar and man he was loving it. Come to think of it so were all the guys around me ! This show went on for a good while then  another man jumped in and they swapped places,

Welcome to Paris hey !
